WHY Abcon?

Why is it more cost effective for companies to use us rather than to outsource products directly? Knowledgeable companies understand that sourcing products in India is far more complicated than simply locating one or two factories to make their products offshore, providing drawings and then starting production.

First, we get our clients the best pricing. We get quotes from many different companies in India. This ensures that our clients get the maximum benefit of our unparalleled network of honest, reliable and proven manufacturers. In short, we get Indian companies bidding against each other for your work.

Once our client agrees to move forward and issues a PO, it is turned over to our Project Management Team.

Next, we work with the customer to put together a detailed quality control plan for the job. Our agents in India will do onsite quality inspections, saving our customers time and money by not having to do it themselves. Independent third party inspections are also available.

Once our customers place an order, our vendors make the required tooling and pre-production samples. This way our customers can be sure that the product we make will meet their specifications before we start production. If necessary, any changes will be made to the process and additional samples will be provided for approval. Then the project goes into production.

We can get our clients shipping estimates and either arrange to have their shipper pick up the goods or we can recommend shippers to those clients that do not have one. When required, we can negotiate freight cost as part of the production price.

  1. Pick one of your existing high volume products that require a lot of labor, assembly work and/or has very high packaging costs.

  2. Send us a RFQ for a partial run of that product.  We will become your second supplier until you feel comfortable transitioning to a completely new program in India. We will get you a quote so you will know the savings you will achieve by moving the product offshore. Include with the RFQ: detailed electronic drawings, material specifications, quality and testing requirements and three or four samples of the product so that the manufacturers which are quoting the project will know the exact quality standards you expect.

All information, drawings, and samples will be maintained under our confidentiality clause. Include the yearly volume you will expect to order once the initial test runs prove successful for the most accurate quote.
  3. We send the electronic drawings and pictures to our offices in India for them to get manufacturing quotes from three or four different Indian manufacturers. This process should take approximately two weeks.

  4. Once you get the quote, you can decide whether you wish to proceed to the next step. If you do, we will send the samples to the manufacturers in India so that our vendor has a sample of the quality you require.

  5. Customer will be responsible for manufacturing and shipping costs of samples provided. If tooling is required, we need a 50% tooling deposit and the necessary tooling and 1st Articles will be made. Indian tooling prices are very reasonable.

  6. Once the 1st Articles are approved, you pay the balance of the tooling and a down payment on the first production run. The Indian company will then make a limited first run of your product.

  7. If you are satisfied with the manufacturing process, you may increase the quantity of each subsequent run until the order is filled, thereby maximizing your cost savings.
By using this manufacturing strategy, you keep your risks to an absolute minimum. You also do not risk disturbing your production schedule because you will start by only sourcing a portion of your product.
